Selling my G2 for an S4, the battery of the G2 is horrendous after the
KitKat update, barely gets me half way threw the day with out me putting
the brightness to 0, and battery saver mode on. Not to mention how the S4
has a battery case that nearly triples it’s current battery. While the G2
has no removable back making it hard for third party manufacturers to make
a decent battery case. And don’t get me started on the onscreen buttons
which literally shank of the .2 inches of the screen real estate……

I like the gs4. But the lg g2 has a better hardware. Camera battery and a
bigger screen and 32 gb. Go g2

I’m a Samsung junkie but between the S4 and the G2, the latter wins out.
Faster processor, brighter & crisper looking screen, very solid build
quality, better camera, the list goes on. I would of bought the G2 but it
was $160 more than the S4. T-Mobile’s “Summer Savings Sale” for loyal
customers beyond one year of service allowed me to buy the S4 for $260 otd.

lg’s smartphones are overall very snappy down to the budget models.
software optimalisation is very good if not one of the best of todays
    smartphones.

I chose the G2, I now will send it back. the rear buttons suck and I
realize a SDcard is a requirement for me. 14 day return with Verizon and
I’m switching to the S4. Oh and when I drain the damn battery I’m not
without a phone or tied to a charger with the Samsung.

I will get S4 i9506 which is performing well against G2 😉 and there is no
lag on S4 with KitKat at all.

I have owned both and the overall feeling is that they are almost equal. As
a device for their current prices they both are the best. Better than
iphone 5s or S5, when you consider the price too. Between the two, G2 is a
bit better like 9/10 vs about 8/10 for s4. But when you add up the more
developed apps from samsung apps, it is like 9/10 too.
Here’s my summary of the winner on different parameters:
display – g2 slightly better, more vibrant yet softer on the eye and natural
    weight – s4 slightly better
    aesthetics/looks – s4 slightly better
still camera – depends on the circustance – some small plusses and minusses
for both. overall equal, very good cams.
video camera – same as above
speed – internet – no noticeable difference. both very fast.
speed – internal speed – G2 way better. when i say internal i mean the way
apps and other functions open and close. it is instantaneous in g2 while
all actions take a quarter of a second in s4. Like phone dial pad, opening
the message or email or almost anything. In some apps like calculator such
    lag is not noticed.
call quality – both good, but s4 “sounds” louder
battery – g2 way better (2days vs 1 day of s4). Removable battery is not a
consideration for me – i prefer non removable as they tend to be “better”
batteries (example 4 year old iphones that still carry you for a day vs 1
year old samsungs that give you a “connect your charger” at 3 pm. Its not
just software). Long batt life is v imp to me as i cannot always recharge
    at night
extra memory card – A slight win for s4. You get usable around 10 gb in a
16 gb device. one can still manage with that, even with hundreds of photos,
about 50 small videos, about 50 applications etc. Still with room for more
recordings. Still, it is nice to have that flexibility of higher capacity.
Overall at the same price I would pick the g2 again, but would miss many
apps and “behaviours” of samsung that i am used to.

Thank you for an outstanding head to head comparison. My mate picked up a
GS4 and I went with the G2. To early to tell with the differences, but both
phones are keepers. She loves the features of the GS4, simple and clean
cut. I just love the layout and functions of the G2. The speed on the G2 is
fast. Faster than the GS4. Then again, all a matter of needs and taste.
Keep the reviews coming! Love your work!

Lg G2 maybe has better specs. but Samsung is Samsung, LG will stop to
support g2 when g3 comes like on Model G, s5 is here and s4 is still
supported 😉 and i tested these 2 phones, every game can be started on each
other and if you are averege user like me you will choose s4.There is a lot
smat things that makes S4 better….
